WHY KHAYA?

Khaya is also known as African mahogany.

It is the type of wood that I used to make my first piece of furniture (this craftsman style night stand) for my wife when we were still dating.

Khaya means "home" in Zulu.

This is especially significant for my wife as she spent many of her formative years in South Africa. We now have a little one and are thrilled to be back on the island where I grew up, making our home (both personal and professional) right here.

I look forward to sharing our stories of home, and becoming a part of yours by working with you to craft heirloom pieces that contribute to your sense of place and home.
